A fatal hit and run in Lafourche Parish has landed a 34-year-old man in jail.
Louisiana State Police say Damion Jones of Gray was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe east on LA 82 when he was struck a pedestrian. Troopers say after the crash, Jones left the scene.
The pedestrian died after being taken to the hospital.
A short time later, authorities located Jones and the vehicle, and say Jones admitted to driving the vehicle. He has been booked on a charge of hit-and-run driving with death.
Investigators do not suspect that Jones was impaired at the time of the wreck.
