New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno hits 100 days in office this week. The mayor marked the milestone in an online post.
She says her first 100 days have been dominated by two things: working to improve basic infrastructure, and grappling with the budget.
"We've focused so heavily on filling more than 6,000 potholes and repairing more than 2,000 lights," Moreno said.
As for the budget, the mayor said: "We've had a 44 percent decrease in overtime Q1 this year compared to last year."
She said that it has saved the city around $8 million.
Moreno says her administration has also cut down on the city's travel expenses.
"We've had a 90 percent reduction in travel from Q1 this year compared to last year," said Moreno.
