The state of Iowa has made good on a friendly bet with the state of Louisiana over the outcome of the women’s college basketball national championship game.
Thanks to LSU’s victory, and first ever national championship in women’s basketball, Iowa is sending over 1,200 pounds of pork to Louisiana food banks, as per the agreement between Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds and Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards.
The impending arrival of pork products was confirmed via a tweet by Edwards.
Edwards himself will also receive a dozen pork chops as part of the wager.
Had the Tigers lost, Edwards would have sent boudin to Iowa.
