Between Jazz Fest and the PGA Zurich Classic, it is quite a weekend for New Orleans.
Jazz Fest this year added an eighth day. New Orleans & Company's Mark Romig says that's great for the city's economy, and not just because it brings in more visitors.
"I think it's going to mean a lot of both visitors as well as locals," said Romig of the fest gaining an additional Thursday. "It gives the locals another opportunity to get out there, take off some time from work."
And the Zurich Classic at TPC Louisiana is pretty huge for helping sell New Orleans to a broad audience.
"The reason is that we are on TV four days straight, and it's not only national audiences but it's international audiences," Romig explained.
And while the NFL Draft isn't happening IN New Orleans, Romig says it is still an opportunity for the hospitality industry.
What the draft does, is that it creates more opportunities for a lot of our food and beverage outlets to be able to pull people in to watch the actual draft itself," Romig said.
