The month of February started with the Super Bowl -- and ends with Mardi Gras. And that has local business leaders happy.
Jefferson Economic Development Corporation President Jerry Bologna says the Super Bowl wasn't just good for New Orleans -- he says there was a definite trickle-down effect.
"Every company throwing a private party needs caterers, and florists, and lighting companies," he told WWL's Newell Normand, and he said going from the Super Bowl and all of its activity, into Mardi Gras, compounds the economic impact.
"I am anxiously anticipating what those February tax revenues are going to look like for Jefferson Parish," Bologna said, joking that king cake sales alone have been tremendous.
