Jefferson Parish is ready start COVID-19 shot delivery.
"We need to start turning the corner to people who have a little bit harder access," said Parish president Cynthia Lee Sheng. "People who want the vaccine but have a little bit more difficult time."
Sheng says they're setting up a vaccination program for people who are home-bound or bed-ridden.
"We're in a partnership with Ochsner and ready responders that will go directly into their home with a Johnson & Johnson vaccine," said Sheng.
The parish is also putting together a program to help people who are capable of leaving their homes, but need assistance, to get them to a vaccine clinic.
