Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Harvey. It happened around 4:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 1st Street and Maplewood Drive.
"Second District officers arrived and discovered a 61 year old male on the ground unconscious," said JPSO spokesman Glen Boyd. "He was pronounced dead on the scene."
Boyd says deputies detained one individual for questioning.
