New Orleans is about to get a little scarier in the best way possible. The Krewe of Boo is rolling through downtown this weekend, and organizers say this year’s celebration will be bigger, bolder, and full of surprises.
Chief Spookster Brian Kern says the parade is the culmination of a full weekend of Halloween fun, from the popular Zombie Run, which already has more than 600 participants, to the main event itself, led by this year’s king, the Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu.
“It was always the vision to have the streets lined with families decked out in their Halloween garb, enjoying the tricks and treats,” Kern said.
The Krewe of Boo has grown into one of New Orleans’ most beloved fall traditions, blending creative floats, costumed crowds, and spooky spirit into a weekend-long celebration.
Fans can expect some new parade surprises this year..
"In addition to our traditional treats like Chee-weez and moonpies, we'll be throwing Jambalaya Girl gumbo and jambalaya mix."
Kern says one thing will always stay the same, the community’s love for Halloween and the joy of seeing the city come alive with a little haunted flair.
