With Carnival season now in the rear-view mirror, you may be once again pondering what to do with all those beads you caught.
How about trading them in for free donuts?
Krispy Kreme is running a promotion for two days at their Metairie and Baton Rouge locations: One dozen donuts for every 12 pounds of Mardi Gras beads turned in.
The Krispy Kreme locations in question: 825 Clearview Parkway in Metairie and 5504 Plank Road in Baton Rouge.
You can exchange beads for donuts from 8am to 10pm on March 5 and 6.
The bead drive will benefit The Arc of Greater New Orleans, a nonprofit organization that seeks to give people with intellectual disabilities developmental opportunities.
