
Several important races in Louisiana head to a runoff.
Any candidate who did not win more than 50% of the vote heads to a runoff with the next candidate earning the next highest percentage of the votes.
Here is a list of the runoff races in Louisiana heading to the December 5th ballot:
U. S. Representative -- 5th Congressional District
Two Republicans will face off again in a runoff for 5th Congressional District.
The former Congressman Ralph Abraham’s chief of staff Luke Letlow and State Representative from Alexandria, Lance Harris will head to a runoff. The seat became available after Congressman Ralph Abraham announced his retirement.

Orleans Parish District Attorney
Two Democrats head to a runoff for the Orleans District Attorney position left vacant when D.A. Leon Cannizzaro announced he would not run for re-election.
Jason Williams and Keva Landrum did not get enough votes in the November 3rd election, so they will face-off in a runoff election in December.
Williams is a New Orleans City Councilmember and attorney, while Landrum has previous experience as a prosecutor serving under former District Attorney Harry Connick Sr. She was also a judge and interim D.A.

Louisiana Public Service Commission District 1
The Louisiana Public Service Commission is an independent regulatory agency serving the public interest.
Incumbent PSC member, Republican Eric Skrmetta will face Democrat Allen H. Borne Jr. in a runoff election in December.

Associate Justice - Supreme Court, 7th Supreme Court District
Three Democratic judges squared off in the November election but two will head to a runoff.
Terri Love and Piper Griffin face off again in a runoff election in December. Griffin got 44% of the votes while Love grabbed 32% of the votes.

The runoff candidates will be on the December 5th ballot.
