Louisiana’s 3.3% unemployment rate reported by the Louisiana Workforce Commission in August is the lowest rate of unemployment in state history.
There’s a myriad of factors that can contribute to that status. One factor is the demand for adequate amounts of staff and personnel remains high three years after the COVID-19 pandemic re-arranged many traditional concepts of work.
“Over the course of the last couple of decades, we have shifted from employees going to work for a company 35 years and retiring with a gold to where people now they don’t look for a job that they’re going to stay at forever, they look for jobs that interested them at the time. The pandemic came in and created a lot more shifts in the workplace,” said Lola Lass, president of Adeeta Corporate Staffing.
Lola Lass founded Adeeta in 1998. The staffing company is a broker in the job market, concentrating on administrative, human resources and marketing needs. Back in the day, many of us would call them a temporary or temp agency. Think of Adeeta as an employment matchmaker. Businesses or employers needing certain workers will turn to Adeeta which has a pool of potential candidates. Those job seekers also turned to Adeeta to connect them with their ideal job…or one close to it. Lola Lass told me there have been profound changes to the workplace and employment environment following the pandemic. That includes the temp hiring industry itself. Listen to our conversation here.
