A Monroe man is in custody after allegedly attempting to rape a sleeping woman.
Tona “T.J.” Jones is accused of forcing himself onto a woman who was sleeping at his residence after a night of drinking, according to court documents.
The victim, who has not been identified by authorities, said that she awoke around 8:30 a.m. on the morning of February 23 to find Jones on top of her and pulling down her pants in an attempt to have forced intercourse.
Jones covered her mouth when she tried to yell for help, according to her account.
The victim said Jones stopped when she faked a seizure and instead fled the scene, taking her cell phone with him.
She said Jones said, “You’re going to tell on me,” as he left.
Jones has been charged with sexual battery and simple battery and was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on May 30.
