Lafourche Parish residents who live between Raceland and Fourchon are asked to conserve water after a water main in the area broke.
According to officials with the Lafourche Parish Water District No. 1, the main broke near the district's south water treatment plant. A boil water advisory have been put into place as of yet.
The affected area includes the communities of Raceland, Des Allemands, Mathews, Gheens, Lockport, Valentine, Larose, Cut Off, Galliano, Golden Meadow, Leeville, and Fourchon.
"Customers in the affected area are asked to conserve water and refrain from non-essential water use until further notice," officials said in a statement. "Your cooperation is vital to ensure adequate water quality and quantity are preserved for all communities within our water system."
