Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has issued a state of emergency ahead of the Arctic blast that will hit Louisiana in the next few days.
Landry’s state of emergency declaration will allow the state to provide direct assistance to municipalities and parishes as they work to protect the “life, safety, and welfare of Louisianans.”
“Keeping Louisianans safe is our top priority. I am declaring a state of emergency for the incoming winter storm currently forecasted to impact Louisiana, and I’m encouraging everyone to stay alert, monitor the weather forecast, and prepare now for any potential impacts,” Landry said in a statement.
