LSU needs to hire a new football coach, and the governor says he won't be involved in that decision -- and neither will the school's athletics director.
"The board of supervisors is going to come up with a committee and they're going to go find us a coach," said Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry.
Landry did not sound happy with LSU athletics director Scott Woodward, not so much for firing Kelly, but for the $53 million the school still owes him.
"Right now we got a 53 million liability."
The governor said the LSU Board of Supervisors will instead be responsible for the coaching search.
"I can tell you right now, Scott Woodward is not selecting the next coach. Hell, I'll let Donald Trump select it before I let him do it," Landry quipped.
