As Catholics around the world mourn the death of Pope Francis, they're also looking ahead to the church's next era.

The College of Cardinals will select the new pope during a secret conclave, but Catholics in the Archdiocese of New Orleans have their opinions about what--and who--the new pontiff should be.

Some local Catholics said that the next pope should continue Francis' legacy of grace for all.

"I'm looking for someone who would respect even the least of these, the poor and marginalized," one Catholic told us.

"I'm looking for someone bold and reflective, not shaken by the outside world," another said.

"Someone kind and who is a bridge builder," added another.

Even those who belong to other Christian faiths weighed in.

"I'm not Catholic, but I hope the Catholic Church chooses someone that embodies the spirit," one non-Catholic told us.

The conclave must begin between 16 and 21 days following the death of a pope, putting its start date between May 6th and May 12th. Some of the speculated frontrunners for the next pontiff are Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines, Cardinal Pietro Parolin of Italy, Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana, and Cardinal Peter Erdo of Hungary.
