Ring in the New Year, New Orleans style! Head down to the French Quarter as the Fleur De Lis is set to drop at the stroke of midnight atop Jax Brewery. The six foot, 100lb display will descend against a backdrop of fireworks that will light up the city sky.
The fireworks display planned for the New Year’s Eve celebration is nothing short of spectacular as Debbie Bresler of Countdown New Orleans explains.
“It’s professional and safe. The show will feature 10-inch shells that will travel over 1,000 feet high and break across the night sky.”
You will also find representations of Sugar Bowl Contenders Texas Longhorns and Washington Huskies as part of the arrangement.
The fireworks will begin starting at 11:59 just before the Fleur De Lis starts its descent.
The festivities kickoff during the day, however, with revelry continuing past midnight.
“At 2:30pm The Allstate Sugar Bowl has its Mardi Gras style, French Quarter Parade, then we invite everyone to visit all the wonderful shops, restaurants, and museums before grabbing a spot for the fireworks”, says Ms. Bresler.
You can also listen to a synced playlist for the fireworks display free at wwl.com and on the Audacy app.
