The back-and-forth between the governor's office and the city of New Orleans isn't making economic development any easier.
Greater New Orleans Inc. President and CEO Michael Hecht says when everyone is working on mutual trust, there's nothing New Orleans and Louisiana can't accomplish together.
"But if we default back to the no-trust box, then nobody's going to win," Hecht warned. "And so there's not that much to say about it except that we have to kind of get back to that mutual cooperation stance as quickly as possible."
Hecht says all parties need to get beyond this, because New Orleans, despite it's recent budget crisis, was starting to build momentum.
"You don't want to stop an object that's in motion, because it's hard to get it going again, and that's, I think, what we risk here a little bit," he said.
