Homicide detectives in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office are investigating a fatal shooting in Metairie.
The sheriff's office says deputies were called to the 6200 block of Riverside Drive around 8:30 Wednesday morning.
A woman was found suffering fro a gunshot wound.
Paramedics took the woman to the hospital where she died a short time later.
