While COVID-19 case numbers increase, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles closes several locations as a precaution.
The closures are temporary, but caused a major inconvenience for drivers who had booked prior appointments at these OMV field offices.
Below is a list of OMV closures:
- Crowley
- Mandeville
- Chalmette
- Jennings
- Franklinton
- New Orleans (Veterans Blvd. location)
- Monroe
- Shreveport
- Lafayette
- Westwego
- Livingston
- Winnsboro
If you have an appointment booked during the closures you must reschedule online at expresslane.org.

It gets a bit difficult for drivers looking to reinstate their driver’s license. None of the OMV field offices are taking driver’s license reinstatements at this time.
Reinstatement can only be processed in the following ways:
1. Phone – Call (225) 925-6146 (option 3)
2. Mail – OMV Mail Center, P.O. Box 64886, Baton Rouge, LA 70896
3. Public Tag Agent (PTA) – PTAs can perform limited reinstatement transactions.
