Tangipahoa Parish authorities arrested a 33-year-old truck driver on charges of distributing child pornography.
The sheriff's office says Devon Poirer of St. Martinville shared online video of infants being sexually abused.
During his arrest, deputies say they found more than 30 electronic devices, searches of which revealed pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13 and illegal "deep fakes" depicting child sexual abuse.
He faces 44 counts in all.
"A conviction on just one of these counts comes with a sentence of 25-99 years in prison with 25 of those years being mandatory without the benefit of probation or parole," the sheriff's office said.
The Internet Crimes Against Children task force is investigating to find out how Poirer came into possession of the videos and to whom he may have sent them.
