The Final Four's spotlight is fading, but Louisiana is ready to have a stellar spring with several festivals returning from their long COVID pandemic-forced absences. There will be festivals or fairs somewhere in Louisiana every weekend this spring
"We're excited, you know, we got, coming out of this, 400 fairs and festivals all over Louisiana," said Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser. "Strawberry, of course the Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, Festival International over in Lafayette, and it's a big draw all over Louisiana."
Nungesser says after everything shut down for the spring of 2020, and with the coronavirus pandemic preventing festivals' returns in 2021, travelers are ready to enjoy them again in 2022.
"We're excited, especially coming out of Mardi Gras," said Nungesser. "We saw double-digit improvements in Mardi Gras in areas all over Louisiana, and we expect the same for festival season."
