It's a beautiful morning with cool temperatures and low humidity! This afternoon will be plenty warm though in the mid to upper 80s. Overall, temperatures are slightly below average and that coupled with lower humidity is about as nice as it gets in mid-September.
We'll see the same on Thursday before the humidity starts to return Friday. The chance for rain will creep back up this weekend with a few t-storms around.
Currently no named storms active in the Atlantic basin, but the NHC is highlighting Invest 96 in the Atlantic. The tropical wave is looking better this morning with showers and t-storms bubbling around a broad circulation. If the system can continue to produce showers and t-storms it could organize more over the next couple days and become a depression or storm.
Overall, the tropical wave will move west toward the Caribbean Islands (Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico) by this weekend. Regardless of development, could bring heavy rain to the islands.
Beyond that it's too soon to say what the wave will do with any confidence. We'll watch it, but it's not currently a threat to the United States for the next 5-7 days.
