Nearly 12 hours after LSU fired head football coach Brian Kelly, the university has fired another coach from the football staff.

LSU officials confirmed Monday morning that they dismissed Joe Sloan on Monday, making the announcement in a news release. Officials did not say who would serve as the interim offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season.

Sloan was in his fourth season with the LSU staff, joining the club as part of Kelly's initial staff in 2022 as quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to the offensive coordinator position following LSU's win in the ReliaQuest Bowl over Wisconsin in January 2024.

Sloan's and Kelly's firings come after LSU lost to Texas A&M 49-25 in Tiger Stadium Saturday night. Assistant head coach Frank Wilson will serve as LSU's interim head coach for the remainder of the 2025 campaign.

This is a developing story.
