LSU fans are getting geared up for a road trip into what may be the most hostile territory they experience this season -- Oxford, Mississippi, where LSU's Lane Kiffin used to be the head coach.
Sally Stiel of the LSU Alumni Association says they'll be making their presence known before the 6:30 p.m. kickoff.
"We are taking over the Lyric in the square in Oxford a couple of hours before kickoff," said Stiel.
Stiel says the mood is tight, with tension ready to explode.
"There's so much hype around it," Stiel said. "Everybody's just really excited to see this game finally happen. I feel like we've been talking about it for so long, everybody's just excited to get there."
As for any hostile reception by the "Hotty Toddy" crowd, Stiel expects some teasing.
"I'm sure there'll be a lot of corn dogs hanging from the trees," she said.
But Stiel says she also knows how Ole Miss fans feel, saying it's not unlike what Tigers fans went through with Nick Saban coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide for years.
"It feels very similar, but we're on the other side of it now," she said.
