After all of the hype and off-field shenanigans, Ole Miss and LSU will finally meet tomorrow night in Oxford.
So what exactly can we expect during the game?
"Mass hyperventilation from both fan bases," Tiger Rag editor Glenn Guilbeau said.
According to Guilbeau, the teams may start out sluggish just because of all of the anticipation, but he says that sluggishness won't last long.
"The offenses are going to get clicking on both sides because there is a lot of talent on both offenses," Guilbeau said.
Guilbeau says the events leading up to the game, from Ole Miss serving LSU defensive lineman Princewill Umanmielen with a lawsuit to LSU listing quarterback Sam Leavitt as doubtful on the injury report, are not indicative of how the players and the coaches feel about each other.
"This has been a weird game as far as the back-and-forth," Guilbeau said. "The players and the coaches don't hate one another as much as the fans do or maybe the school administrators do."
Guilbeau said emotions will run high in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium not only on the field but also in the stands. That, he says, could cause some headaches for fans and the police.
"There's probably going to be some arrests in the stadium," Guilbeau said. "LSU fans tend not to behave well at road games, so the authorities need to be ready."
