The New Orleans Police Department says Gen. DeGaulle Drive in Algiers is open after crews cleared an oil spill that shut down more than a mile-and-a-half stretch of the road.
Police say a truck leaked oil on to the roadway around 1 p.m. from Kabel Drive to Shirley Drive.
By 5 pm., enough oil had been cleaned up to reopen DeGaulle between Holiday Drive and Shirley.
