New Orleans police say two people were murdered Tuesday night in a shooting.
"We are working a double homicide near the intersection of South Dorgenois and Perdido streets," Public Information Officer Juan Barnes said.
A news release says it happened just after 9:00pm about a block from NOPD headquarters.
"The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a double homicide that claimed the life of an adult male and female victim."
Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.
"Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive."
Homicide Detective Jameson Diesburg is investigating.
