A Memphis man is charged with transporting a 14-year-old girl to New Orleans to have her perform “commercial sex acts” according to the Department of Justice.
U.S. Attorney for the DOJ, Duane Evans says Jeremy Talbert, 26, from Memphis Tennessee was charged Wednesday with one count bill of information for his role in sex trafficking.
Prosecutors say Talbert advertised the young girl on a classified ad service commonly used to advertise prostitution.
The post titled, “Hey baby, I’m here to satisfy you” featured photographs of the young girl. The post also advertised a “50$ head special” and “pornstar experience.”
On December 17, 2020, police captured Talbert at a Motel 6 in the 4200 block of Old Gentilly Road in New Orleans. The girl was also with him at the time of his arrest. She was taken to safety by law enforcement.
The DOJ says incidents of prostitution happened from October 2020 until December 2020. If convicted, Talbert faces a minimum sentence of ten years to life in prison.
