A Golden Meadow man died after troopers say he rode his bicycle into traffic.
"On October 30, 2024, shortly after 7:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash involving a bicycle on Louisiana Highway 3235 near La Salette Drive," Trooper Tiah Larvadain said in a news release.
The crash claimed the life of 60-year-old Carl Guidry.
"The preliminary investigation revealed that Guidry was attempting to cross LA Hwy 3235 on a bicycle while riding east. At the same time, a 2014 Dodge 2500 was traveling north on LA Hwy 3235. For reasons still under investigation, Guidry failed to yield to the approaching Dodge and was struck."
Guidry died at the scene.
"The driver of the Dodge was not suspected of being impaired and voluntarily provided a breath sample which showed no alcohol detected. A standard toxicology sample was collected from Guidry and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation."
