A Covington man is dead after a Friday morning head-on crash with a Freightliner truck in St. Tammany Parish.
According to state troopers, the crash happened around 5 a.m. on LA 25 near Gotti Road between Folsom and Covington.
Investigators say Lonnie Sanchez, Jr., was driving his Jeep down the highway when he veered onto the shoulder and hit the Freightliner, which was stopped on the side of the road. Sanchez later died at the hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
