NOPD is reporting a man has been shot and killed at the downtown Rouses Market at 700 Barone Street.
The shooting took place around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
NOPD arrived on scene and entered the market.
They were re-directed to parking lot where they located the body of an unidentified 43-year-old African-American male who had been shot.
Police cordoned off the parking lot after arriving on scene so they could investigate.
Initially, the NOPD said the victim was shot once. In a later press release, a spokesperson said the victim was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
No other information has been released. The case remains under investigation.
