A man is in the hospital after a shooting in the Central Business District.
It happened around 4:20 a.m. Sunday at the corner of North Rampart and Canal Streets.
According to the NOPD's major offense log, the victim had been involved in a fight with another person at a Bourbon Street club before the shooting happened. After the fight, the victim walked to Canal Street. Police say a red car pulled up alongside the victim while he was walking down Canal. A man then got out of the car and shot the victim in the arm. The car then sped away on Rampart.
Police say they learned about the shooting after the victim arrived at a hospital to seek treatment for an arm wound.
