The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened right in front of the Superdome.
Police say at around 7:37 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 1500 block of Poydras Street. When officers arrived they discovered an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS. Police are investigating to determine a suspect and motive for the shooting.
