Cops say a man was shot shortly after 7:00am this morning in the French Quarter.
"The NOPD is investigating an Aggravated Battery by Shooting in the 100 block of Bourbon Street," Officer Reese Harper said in an email. "Initial reports show that a man sustained a gunshot wound to his body."
Someone drove the victim to the hospital before EMS arrived.
"The initial call was made at 7:20 A.M."
Harper did not say the victim's condition. There is also no word on any suspects.
It comes as violent crime continues to show huge increases in the city over the past several years as NOPD's ranks continue to shrink.
