New Orleans Police say gunfire sent a man to the hospital early this morning on the edge of the French Quarter.
"The NOPD is investigating a AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING at the intersection of Dauphine and Canal," Public Information Officer James Roberson said in an email.
That location is a block from Canal and Bourbon.
"Initial reports show at least one male victim with at least one gunshot wound to the body. The victims arrived at a local area hospital by NOEMS."
Roberson did not share any information about the victim's condition nor other additional details.
It happened just after 1:00am.
