A man wanted in St. Tammany Parish in connection with a November home invasion and rape is in custody after being found in Las Vegas.
According to STPSO Sergeant Suzanne Carboni, federal marshals arrested Shawn Landry, 25, in an apartment complex in the Vegas metro area. He's being held in the Clark County Jail until he can be transported back to Louisiana.
Landry is accused of breaking into the home of a woman he met in early November and raping and strangling that woman until she lost consciousness. According to investigators, Landry forced his way back into the home after being locked out and took the victim's phone and car. Deputies say they saw Landry running from the home, but they were unable to catch him.
Landry is facing two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of home invasion, and one count of second-degree rape, among other charges.
