The Mayor’s Mardi Gras Advisory Council will meet to gather and discuss updates and assessments of Mardi Gras 2025 from several departments including the Office of Homeland Security and NOPD.

Safety was top priority this season and there will be questions as to how that impacted enforcement of municipal Mardi Gras rules.

Mardi Gras Guide founcer and carnival expert, Arthur Hardy says the local ordinances are pivotal for Carnivals to come.

"There was some mixed messaging as to how enforcement would go."

So were there grills, chain-linked ladders, and DIY port-a-potties?

"There were so many moving parts, we didn't get to see how people handled the rules. But, I expect that to be discussed."

Weather was a major issue, stretching the season further than it has been, and Hardy says the ability of the city, krewes, and service providers to pivot proved impressive.

"Sometimes you have to do it on the fly. I think everyone came together, lent their wisdom, and made this year possible."

But, we'll have to see how Saint Peter feels about the parades rescheduled after Ash Wednesday.
