As we learn more about the federal probe into Mayor Latoya Cantrell, it would seem that federal prosecutors are looking into whether the mayor received gifts in a trade for the firing of a city official.
The case encompasses secret recordings alleged to have captured the proposal of the exchange.
This comes on the heels of theories that federal prosecutors are getting closer to indictments on the mayor, former member of her security detail Jeffery Vappie, and other allies.
It was just last week that the indictment buzz was at its highest as news of grand jury proceedings spread.
Mayor Cantrell has denied any wrongdoing.
