A Metairie woman is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Jefferson.
According to Louisiana state troopers, that crash happened around 11:45 p.m. Thursday on Jefferson Highway near Claiborne Court.
Investigators say Sue Ella Cechman was trying to cross the highway when a car struck her and drove away. First responders took Cechman, 37, to a hospital, where she later died.
Troopers believe the car that hit Cechman is a dark-colored sedan, possibly blue. The vehicle may also have damage to its front.
