Millions and Millions of dollars up for grab in Tuesday’s Mega Millions

Before Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, it's estimated the jackpot will be tabbed at more than three-quarters of a billion dollars.
Who will win? It's likely a number of winners will split the prize as compared with just one single winner.

No doubt there will be scores of smaller prize winners who match a few of the numbers, but won't lock in all the numbers.

Among the people we spoke to at a pair of Jefferson Parish locations, WWL unscientifically found people were almost evenly split among those who are taking their chances and those that don't see the logic in it.

Those who were in had this to say: "Oh yeah, I'm going to have to go get a ticket! Yes, I play the lottery every week or so. But did get a Mega Million this week. You know it! Yes! Five quick-picks, I went to Shell. Ah, yeah, why not, let's do it!"

Despite the lure of easy money, and the ease at getting a lottery ticket, it can be surprising how some people are not moved to play Mega Millions, let alone any lottery based jackpot drawing.

"No I don't, I don’t fool with it. I don't want to contribute; I probably got a better chance of being struck by lightning. I never win. And saw it and I'd be ten dollars poorer afterwards. It's all right, too much money! Yeah, I don't need all that. I can be happy without that! I'm not (playing), I've never even gotten close, I haven't even won a scratch off! I'm not playing the lottery. I just gonna trust the most high Lord has gotten me. No lottery for me. I don't gamble! No sir, good luck to whoever wins it. No…I'm not playing it! If my husband was alive, he'd be playing it, but not for me."

Still, all that money can make a lot of dreams come true. What are some things players would do if they win? It's personally amazing how generous most people would be:

"I would take care of my family, donate some, and then treat myself. I'll take a wonderful trip around the world—how bout that? I think I'm going to help some people I know are very in need of money right now. With the economy the way it is, everything is so expensive, gas and groceries. I have one or two people that I help out a little bit. They call me the living angel. I need to win! I'll give it to my grandkids, my grandson is getting married in January."

So…if you're thinking about diving in getting yourself some tickets for the drawing, remember. You're twice as likely to be struck by lightning, twice before you win the drawing for the full jackpot.
Good Luck!
