The twin girls who, according to Louisiana State Police, were abducted by her mother from a Warehouse District restaurant on Wednesday night have been found safe in St. Tammany Parish along with their mother.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, Alessandra Bruno and Sofia Bruno, both eight-years-old, were located Friday morning. They are reportedly in good health.
On Friday morning, state troopers issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Alert for the twins. The girls' mother, Alejandra Gutierrez, is accused of taking them from Rock-N-Sake Sushi Bar on Wednesday around 7 p.m. According to NOPD officials, Gutierrez, the girls' non-custodial parent, violated a court order in taking the children. Authorities found Gutierrez and her daughters after they tracked Gutierrez's SUV to Mandeville.
Gutierrez, 36, is now in custody on two counts of interference with custody of a child.
