The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans lifted its precautionary boil advisory Friday afternoon.
A large part of Uptown lost water pressure when a 120-year-old cast iron water main broke near Octavia St. and S. Claiborne Ave.
A boil advisory is issued for areas where water pressure drops below 20 psi.
Some customers nearest the area where the break occurred are still being cautioned to boil tap water at least one minute before drinking, cooking, cleaning food or brushing their teeth with it.
Those locations are:
- 200 block of Audubon Blvd.
- 6300 block of S. Johnson St.
- 5430 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 5436 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 5500 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 5508 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 5510 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 6102 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 6112 S. Claiborne Ave.
- 2852 State St.
- 3000 Calhoun St.
SWBNOLA will notify residents when the boil advisory is lifted.
