A Houma woman is charged with attempted first degree murder after Houma police say she threw her child off of the Liberty St. Bridge.
WWL-TV reports the woman jumped in after the child, and the baby was brought to a nearby hospital.
The identity of the woman and child were not disclosed.
Police took the mother into custody on suspicion of first degree murder.
