Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport will hold a full-scale emergency exercise Friday, involving local fire departments, emergency medical services, and police agencies.
"This emergency exercise tests the ability of the Airport, its stakeholders, and surrounding mutual-aid agencies to respond to an emergency incident," the airport said in a statement.
The FAA requires these training sessions every three years.
It will take place from 9 a.m. through noon at the old terminal on the south side of the air field. The airport says the public should not be concerned with the number of emergency vehicles on the scene.
The exercise should not interfere with flight operations at the passenger terminal.
