N.O. has emerged as a safe place to visit this holiday season says city spokesperson

As Thanksgiving approaches, hotels in New Orleans are beginning to fill up with guests at levels typically seen this time of year prior to the pandemic.

“We are very happy to be able to say this holiday season that New Orleans has emerged from this pandemic as a safe place to visit, said Cantrell Administration Spokesman, Beau Tidwell.

He says seeing hotels in the city filled with visitors is a good sign for the city’s tourism industry.

“It gives us a sense of returning to normal… returning to the holidays and getting things kicked off right,” said Tidwell.

With the return of the Bayou Classic to the Caesars Superdome this Saturday along with other events, Tidwell says the mayor’s office is thrilled to, once again, welcome visitors.

However, Tidwell reminds everyone they still need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter a bar or restaurant in the city.
