If you want to make an easy $6,000, a town in the Mississippi Delta region will give it to you if you live there for at least a year.

Natchez, Mississippi officials say it is a great opportunity for people who have been working remotely. That is why they created the "Shift South" grants.

In order to be eligible for the cash, officials do expect people to make a bit of a commitment to the region. In addition to being a resident for at least a year, applicants must buy a house, not rent. And the house must be values at least $150,000 a year.

"We are excited to be the first and only city in the Deep South to offer an incentive package like this to remote workers," said Natchez mayor Dan Gibson. "Our warm and friendly people, along with the river, our history, and our beautiful sunsets, make this a great city to call home."
