The threat of heavy rains on Sunday into Monday is forcing New Orleans city leaders to give the green light to residents to park in the neutral ground.
According to a NOLAReady alert, neutral ground parking will be allowed until 8 a.m. Monday. Residents who park in the neutral ground are reminded not to block intersections, street car paths, bike paths, or sidewalks.
Officials say heavy rain could cause street flooding in low-lying areas. Drivers are urged not to drive through flood waters.
