The New Orleans Police Department booked a teenage suspect in a pair of weekend carjackings, including stealing a car from a DoorDash driver in the Bywater on Saturday.
NOPD says 17-year-old Julio Miguel Daniel carjacked the driver of a Nissan on Sunday in the 5000 block of St. Claude Ave. When officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over, police say Daniel struck one of their cruisers, then tried to get away on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
Investigators believe Daniel is also the person who carjacked a food delivery driver in the Bywater the day before.
In that case, the driver was held up at gunpoint for his Kia in the 600 block of Piety Street.
Daniel is charged with armed robbery, illegal possession of stolen things, hit & run driving and resisting an officer for the Sunday incident.
Charges are still pending for Saturday's crime.
