New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno say she wants to cool tempers between New Orleans and state government.
"What's happening over in criminal court, that's a separate branch of government, not city hall," Moreno said Tuesday to WWL's Newell Normand.
"What I want to focus on now is how do we end this back-and-forth between Baton Rouge and the city?" Moreno said "And I know it's something that's been going on for decades and decades and decades and forever."
The tension between city and state government comes when New Orleans will soon need the state bond commission's permission for another financing package, this one a long-term loan to bring stability to the city's budget.
Moreno said the city and state been able to work together despite differences, and accomplish great things.
"I can tell you that there are some good things that have happened when the city and the state, the governor's office in particular, have worked together for the betterment of New Orleans," she said.
